Cascina Sant'Evasio takes its name from the chapel built in the XVIII century for the bishop of Casale, Sant'Evasio.
The territories of the “cascina” extended for hectars and hectars on Saint Nicolao's hill. During the second world war, the chapel was destroyed, but its lands, vineyards and the wine culture that accompanied it remains.
Carlo Lacqua bought the Cascina and the lands in the sixties almost as a game but also for passion, and he had the idea of following and increasing what they created in the past.
At the beginning the production was reserved to his friends, but glass after glass he was known by a lot of people who estimated him for his products and for his work.

With the help of his son Pier Franco, who leaded the firm since 1984, he started the modernisation of the wine cellar.
“Quality” is the philosophy of Pier Franco, called Piero, so that he produces products typical of the past with modern technologies.

Tradition and modernity are a binomial of Sant'Evasio. “Barbera d'Asti” was, and still is the unquestionable protagonist of the production, in all its facets; its vineyards still surround the farm.
Ten hectares of vineyards are distributed around the cellar, on one of the sunniest and more delightful hills around Nizza Monferrato.
In 1988 Piero introduced his first real creation, Rosignolo, a selection of Barbera grapes, vinified and aged in barriques; he was a pioneer in this field. They used to say about him: “…he is a bashful vine-dresser, one of those people who don't like to show off…”
The range of wines becomes wider, and new technologies support the tradition left by many years of Carlo's hard work. You can perceive the union between man and land, a productive, ethic and cultural reality that aims at the future, but has its strong roots in the irremissible past.

Piero, helped by his wife Anna, carried on his father's dream: to create something that could leave a mark in people's souls.
In 1996, after getting a diploma in oenology, his son Andrea decided to take part in the family tradition, too; from 2001 also his daughter Emanuela tooked part of the family business.

“Here we are, we four at the helm of he farm, Piero, Anna, Andrea and Emanuela, to let you discover something that will leave a happy memory in your hearts”.
